AFMC Embraces Comprehensive Airman Fitness

Air Force Materiel Command is using the Comprehensive Airman Fitness program—an Air Force-wide initiative focused on improving airmen's resilience—to build on its already established airmen wellness programs, accoridng to a command release. The command is embracing CAF, which highlights the importance of physical, social, mental, and spiritual fitness and provides a framework through which officials may more effectively deliver resources to strengthen airmen and their families across those four areas, states the July 9 release. The Airman and Family Readiness Center and base chapels are examples of entities with relevant resources, state the release. CAF builds upon AFMC’s 2006 Wellness and Safety Campaign. The command is now integrating elements of WASC, such as the Employee Assistance Program, Civilian Health Promotion Services, and its civilian fitness policy, into its CAF activities, states the release. Other major commands, including Air Combat Command and Air Mobility Command, have also adopted CAF.
