Tuition Assistance Suspended . . . Again

Airmen are going to have to find another way to pay for college classes, at least for now. That's because all military tuition assistance is suspended "until further notice" due to the lack of an approved Fiscal 2014 defense budget, according to an Oct. 2 release from Air Combat Command. "Airmen who have [approved tuition assistance] for Fiscal Year 2014 may incur a financial responsibility with their school if there is no budget resolution or if the resolution is not retroactive to Oct. 1," states the release. "Students are advised to withdraw from their courses or look into using other financial resources, such as the Montgomery GI Bill or the Post 9/11 GI Bill." This is the second time this calendar year that budget issues have affected tuition assistance.
