The US Air Force has conducted nearly
three-quarters of the strikes conducted in Iraq and Syria and roughly half of
the strikes in Syria so far, said Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Harrigian, assistant deputy
chief of staff for operations, plans, and requirements on the Air Staff.
The Navy is still
trying to determine whether it will open the Naval Special Warfare Command,
which includes the elite Navy SEALs, to women, said Navy Secretary Ray Mabus.
The F-22 Raptor
continues to fly in support of air operations over Syria, depending on the
threat and needs of the particular mission, an Air Staff official recently told
