New Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne believes people must stop viewing the word “recapitalization” as synonymous with aircraft. He told Air Force journalist MSgt. Mitch Gettle earlier this week that more within the service needs recapitalization. “Where we know we have advanced technologies, we want to introduce them; where we know we have emerging missions, we want to satisfy them,” explained Wynne. Where the rubber meets the airfield for Wynne, though, is in having data upon which to base “credible decisions.”
The National Garden of American Heroes, a statuary park being planned at President Donald J. Trump’s behest, will tentatively include the likenesses of U.S. aviation and aerospace pioneers including Benjamin O. Davis Jr., James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle, Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, and William “Billy” Mitchell—just to name a few.
