Airmen of the Missouri Air National Guard’s 139th Airlift Wing recently flew passengers and cargo around Greenland to assist the New York ANG’s 109th Airlift Wing—the unit that flies the ski-equipped LC-130s. The nearly weeklong assist marked the first time the Missouri unit had flown that far north, reports TSgt. Mike Smith. The HC-130 from the 139th AW flew into concrete and dirt runways. The 109th needed the assistance because their wheeled C-130s are deployed elsewhere supporting the war on terror.
