Massachusetts and New Hampshire have activated their state National Guard to help as the states battle record rainfall, which has caused extensive flooding and numerous road closures. New Hampshire put about 100 airmen and 300 soldiers on standby, and, by Monday, had 150 working traffic control and evacuation. Massachusetts has some 270 soldiers standing by with all-wheel-drive vehicles.
