Reacting to the news of the latest potential compromise of veterans data, Senate minority leader Harry Reid of Nevada said Tuesday, “Enough is enough,” and demanded the resignation of Veteran Affairs Secretary James Nicholson. Reid noted that Nicholson had promised to make VA data security measures the “gold standard,” but now Reid wants “an individual who will do more than talk.” Republican heads of the Veterans’ Committees are crying partisan politics. Rep. Steve Buyer (R-Ind.) says Reid’s demand is “off target,” while Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) deems it “over the top.”
Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, celebrated the beddown of its full complement of F-35s with a ceremony just weeks after the base received the last of its 54 fighters.
