Bronze Stars for Five

The Air Force has awarded Bronze Star Medals to five airmen, one at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, and four at Eglin AFB, Fla. In reporting on another award at Elmendorf, we missed the one to Capt. Kelley Jeter, a public affairs officer, for meritorious service while deployed to Afghanistan. MSgt. Michael Carl, 96th Communications Squadron, received his award for support during sustained combat operations, the specifics of which remain restricted. MSgt. Gregory Pocaigue, 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron, led a convoy squad and provided support for coalition drivers throughout Regional Command South in Afghanistan. TSgt. Travis Laws, 96th LRS, served as a convoy commander, delivering 2.4 million tons of cargo in hostile areas in Afghanistan. SSgt. Brad Mitchell, 96th LRS, was lead vehicle commander, safely leading numerous vehicles through hot spots in Afghanistan. (Eglin report by Lois Walsh)
