In Georgia, the Air National Guard’s 165th Airlift Wing has opened a new $6.9 million training and medical complex at its home near the Savannah-Hilton Head Airport, reports SavannahNow.com. It is part of the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center. Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who worked with Rep. John Barrow (D-Ga.) to secure funding for the facility, said, “This new training center is going to help us not only keep [Guardsmen] trained, but its location is going to help keep the 165th healthy, too.”
