US Air Forces in Europe created the 501st Combat Support Wing just over a year ago to support seven geographically separated units in Great Britain and, according to Lt. Gen. Robert D. Bishop Jr., it is doing its job. Bishop, who is USAFE vice commander and Air Command Europe commander, visited each of the seven GSUs recently. He said, “It’s a phenomenal sight when you stand there and witness these high-caliber professionals in action and observe what they achieve in vital areas such as communications, intelligence, and munitions.”
