Legal Eagles Eye Lawsuit Over Oceana: As soon as DOD announced that Virginia leaders had failed to meet BRAC criteria to keep NAS Oceana’s fighters at the Navy’s master jet base, state attorneys began reviewing options for a lawsuit, reports the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot. There may be no need, if the Norfolk newspaper has the skinny on the only publicly discussed alternative location—the former Cecil Field near Jacksonville, Fla. The Pilot reports that Jacksonville is no longer interested in resurrecting Cecil.
