Air Force Academy cadet Hila Levy from Puerto Rico has received a Rhodes Scholarship, one of 32 for 2008. She will study for a master’s degree in global health science at Oxford University in England. ? William Borger, the head of the Air Force Research Lab’s propulsion directorate, received a Defense Distinguished Civilian award. He currently is leading USAF’s development of alternative jet fuels and high efficiency engines. ? Distinguished contributions in chemistry and biochemistry earned Hugh DeLong, a program manager with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, designation as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. DeLong’s work in corrosion-control and coatings has produced paints currently in use on the F-15 and C-17 and to be used on the F-35.
