As part of USAF’s 60th anniversary commemoration, the Army-Air Force Exchange Service has resurrected a favorite children’s classic from World War II—The Gremlins: A Royal Air Force Story, by renowned children’s author Roald Dahl. Originally published in 1943 with a run of only 5,000 copies, the book features illustrations by Walt Disney Studios. Andrew Stephens, 11th Wing historian, found one of the original copies in the National Archives and the project grew from there. The new publication is available in limited numbers at base exchanges.
