USAF firemen from Moody AFB, Ga., have been helping area firefighters since April 17 to stamp out forest fires raging across southeastern Georgia, reports A1C Eric Schloeffel. The Moody firefighters have been supplying water to local firefighting companies via a tanker than can hold 5,000 gallons of water. Working in 12-hour shifts, the Moody personnel drive the tanker to wherever a fire truck needed water, since the rural area of the fire contains few hydrants.
The Air Force’s plans for its portion of joint all-domain command and control have taken a major step forward.
