Air Mobility Command has reorganized its directorate responsible for supporting nuclear deterrence, creating a “new focal point” for nuclear policy within the command. The new A3/10, Headquarters AMC Operations, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration Directorate will oversee and develop policy for nuclear airlift, nuclear command and control, and nuclear air refueling, according to an AMC release. AMC made the organizational change to better align with how the Headquarters Air Force is constructed, and it will make it easier to find nuclear mission experts within the command. The nuclear mission is “no-fail,” AMC Commander Gen. Carlton Everhart said in the release, and “this action demonstrates our unyielding commitment and enduring organizational focus to get it right.”
