The remaining 37 airmen from Yokota AB, Japan, who had deployed to Utapao, Thailand, to support the delivery of relief supplies into Myanmar, have returned to their home base. Yokota C-130 transports from the 374 Airlift Wing, operating from Utapao, ferried relief supplies, including bottled water, mosquito netting, and hygiene kits, into Myanmar starting May 12, 10 days after a powerful cyclone ravaged the Asian nation. The U.S. supports “a stronger and more capable” European defense, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said during an Oct. 22 press conference in Brussels—but that defense should not duplicate the functions and capabilities of the NATO alliance.
