The 3rd Component Maintenance Squadron at JB Elmendorf, Alaska, has won a 2010 maintenance award, the Defense Department announced Wednesday. These awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding achievements in weapon system and military equipment maintenance. The Elmendorf unit was one of two recognized across the DOD in the small-sized depot or field unit category. The Elmendorf airmen will receive their award at a banquet in November in Tampa. B-21 Temporary Shelters Could Also Shelter B-2s

The Air Force's experimental runway shelter for the new B-21 bomber is large enough to cover it or the B-2, and therefore reveals no information about the dimensions of the new aircraft. Two such shelters will be evaluated, but the maker of the second version hasn't been chosen, yet.
