Langley AFB, Va., has joined with the city of Hampton to conduct a Joint Land Use Study and plans on Sept. 22 to co-host a citizen outreach meeting at the Hampton Convention Center to discuss the JLUS. Hampton, which has posted a JLUS survey for citizen input on its Website, prompted the study as a means to avoid potential conflicts between the base and new development in the area, reports the Daily Press. Newport News, Poquoson, and York County are also participating in this first such study for Langley, reports the newspaper. Readers can also find the citizen survey, available through Oct. 30, on the Hampton Langley JLUS Web site. (Langley report by Vic Johnston)
