The 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB, Tex., and B-1B.org, a non-profit organization promoting the contributions of the B-1B bomber to national defense, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first B-1B delivery to Dyess in conjunction with the base’s open house and airshow April 28-May 2. The anniversary festivities will include current operations briefings, simulator tours, a memorial service, static display, and banquet. The U.S. supports “a stronger and more capable” European defense, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said during an Oct. 22 press conference in Brussels—but that defense should not duplicate the functions and capabilities of the NATO alliance.
