Air Mobility Command’s 724th Air Mobility Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy, has a new 34,000-plus square feet, $10 million passenger and air freight terminal that provides for closer parking of large aircraft, reducing cargo loading and passenger travel time. NATO shares use of the facility and provided much of the funding for its construction, which began in January 2006. The 726th AMS officially opened the new terminal on Sept. 10 and processed their first passengers last week. It replaced a 54-year-old facility. (Aviano report by TSgt. Michael O’Connor)
