The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing is getting a new fitness center at its operating location in Southwest Asia, according to a wing release. Members of the 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE, one of the Air Force’s deployable heavy repair and heavy construction squadrons, are building the center at the wing’s undisclosed air base. “The new fitness center is needed to provide a safer, better equipped fitness facility for the members of the 380th AEW,” said Rachael Groft, fitness director for the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron. It will provide “a much more ideal fitness environment for members to unwind, de-stress, and work on their fitness goals,” she said. The center will feature free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, two indoor basketball courts, and a designated multi-purpose room, states the Dec. 8 release. Construction is scheduled for completion by April 2014. (380th AEW report by SSgt. Michael Means)
