Ohio Man Arrested for Threatening Troops

Federal agents in Ohio on Thursday arrested an Akron man for soliciting a crime of violence by spreading personal information of US servicemembers online and calling for their assassinations, the Justice Department announced. Terrence McNeil, 25, allegedly solicited the murder of 100 military members in support of ISIS back in September, according to a Justice Department news release. McNeil used a Tumblr account with a banner of the “Islamic State Hacking Division” and posted “Target: United States Military” and “Leak: Addresses of 100 US Military Personnel,” states the release. McNeil also reportedly posted a .gif file with the troops’ information, and said, “Kill them in their own lands, behead them in their own homes, stab them to death as they walk their streets thinking they are safe.” McNeil appeared in the US District Court in the Northern District of Ohio and is charged with one count of solicitation of a crime of violence. It’s not clear how many, if any, airmen were on the list.
