Airmen and other service members at Ali Base, Iraq, lost one of their military working dogs, Goro, when he died of natural causes July 28. Goro, an eight-year-old German Shepherd, was on his sixth tour in the combat zone. His most recent handler, SSgt. Sean Neisen, deployed from Ramstein AB, Germany, said he was special in that “when it was time to work, he’d work, but after duty, he wanted to be your pet.” Goro served as an explosive detection and patrol dog.
