Maj. Gen. Gary McCoy is the new commander of the newly established Air Force Global Logistics Support Center, taking the reins during a Nov. 13 ceremony at Scott AFB, Ill. Air Force Materiel Command created the new center provisionally in May 2007 under the leadership of Col. Brent Baker Sr. Formal activation as the Air Force’s hub for supply chain management came on March 28 of this year. McCoy, who previously served as Director of Logistics Readiness on the Air Staff, now oversees an organization that comprises two wings, one group, and other units located at seven USAF facilities, including Scott. At the ceremony, he praised the work of Baker and his team, vowing to “continue to build on the progress they’ve made.” (AFMC report by JoAnne Rumple)
