The third and final Air Force Week of 2008 kicks off today in Los Angeles and runs through Nov. 21. Air Force Weeks were conceived several years back to celebrate the service, build ties with local communities, and get the word out on the Air Force’s mission. Among the activities planned in the City of Angels is an exposition this weekend at the Hollywood & Highland plaza. It will include super-sized models of aircraft, historical military photos, satellite pictures, and flight posters from yesterday and today, and even looking to the future. There is also an Air Force-themed film festival at theaters around LA, and the Wings over Long Beach aerospace exhibition and jobs fair Nov. 15-16.
